Off leash reliability training

We currently offer off-leash reliability (e-collar) training in Uxbridge, North York and Parkdale (Toronto), and Guelph.

This is one of our favourite services to offer because NOTHING enriches a dog’s life like off-leash freedom!

Please see below for the options we offer for off-leash training.

  • Our off-leash reliability session package consists of 7, hour long lessons with you and your dog.

    In these sessions, we will teach you everything you need to get your dog fully off leash reliable.

    We introduce motivation/handler engagement and all the obedience skills they’ll need for off-leash reliability on a long line, and then we introduce the e-collar and take you through the process of teaching your dog to listen around ANY distraction.

    $775+HST (e collar sold separately)

    Sessions are available in Uxbridge, North York and Parkdale (Toronto), and Guelph.

  • Let us train your dog for you!

    In this 4 week program, we will train your dog to be fully off leash reliable around any distraction. Not only will your dog learn recall (come), they’ll also learn:

    • To move in the same direction as you on hikes (instead of veering off to sniff)

    • Heel

    • Stop/wait

    • Sit/down stay

    Program includes:

    • Initial assessment session

    • 4 weeks of training in our trainer’s home

    • 4 transfer sessions with you to make sure you are comfortable handling the e-collar and walking your dog off leash, even around their biggest distractions

    $3495+HST (e collar sold separately)

    Program currently available in Uxbridge.

    Please note all dogs must be crate trained prior to booking a board and train program.

  • This program is a combination of private sessions and board and train - ideal for those who want to take on a role in their dog’s learning process, but also want some additional support/training repetitions handled by their trainer!

    Program includes:

    • 4 private sessions to teach handler engagement/motivation and all foundation skills on a long line

    • 2 weeks of training in our trainer’s home to complete off-leash reliability

    • 2 follow up sessions to ensure you’re comfortable handling the e collar and walking your dog off-leash, even around their biggest distractions

    $2540+HST (e collar sold separately)

    Please note all dogs must be crate trained prior to booking a board and train program.

If you’re thinking of hiring Mindful Dog Co. for training, please do it!!! We had the absolute best experience with Hanna and she’s someone who truly goes above and beyond for her clients and dogs! We wanted more off-lead freedom for our energetic vizsla but were conflicted about how to train an e-collar. For a long time we didn’t think it was possible as our dog has intense prey drive and has struggled with stranger danger in the past.

Hanna puts the dog’s wellbeing and mental state at the forefront of her training.
